Re: Show off your Gerber Knives
GERBER KNIVES: They are no longer a company. Fiskars are here and making a new product for the old Gerber afficinado's. Well made dressy and functional collector type cutlery. This new company needs to be recognized for this accomplishment. These knives are no longer Gerbers, they are Fiskars. I hav...

FRJ: Here are three for your artifacts. The model 1873 winchester In 44-40 and an 1850 foot officers sword, made in Germany by Horstman. There is also a 1906 model 94 .30 cal. Interesting with a nickel steel bbl And receiver. It was not blued. Moss 20200616_094812.jpg 20200616_094545.jpg 20200616_08...

A find of a special sort!!!
Found a few weeks ago. I saw it, felt held and admired it. Made a bid and it is mine. I had never seen one before so you can just imagine. Going to sales for over 60 years and there it is. THE GUN THAT WON THE WEST. WOW. No caliber marked on barrel cause 44-40 was the only one for the first decade o...

Re: Show off your Gerber Knives
Really nice mag and original folder, with original box and sheaths. Getting harder to find as time moves along.
God Bless,
Moss
Maybe 55 and 60 or so years new.
What's your best guess does FH stand for folding hunter or Francis Ham ? Could there have been a bit of vanity involved?

Re: Can any one HELP Identify how old they THINK THIS Knife is???
I think it is an early 40's RICHARTZ with the birdseye rivet. Just wag, not enough info. If he is still around smiling knife use to save these. There should be some of his old posts in the records somewhere.

Re: how to know a WWII KABAR?
Sounds as though the company whose assemblers had the longest arms enabling them to reach the bottom of the blade barrel. If they could use up the current run of blades the anomalies would not have happened. Aint hindsight great. Thank You for the great explanations. The detail was interesting. I ju...

49.*. Sorry; I cannot answer your question, other than to say I think KABAR came into use in the early 20's although I think I have have seen KABAR on one blade with Union Cutco on the other other the latter part of the span you gave. It is my reasoning that says it had a lot to do with what new bla...

Re: old Vintage Cotton Samplers
Fine knife a Cotton sampler. Remembering back several decades. Late 40's as I think. My Brother drove a tug that hauled the freshly bailed Cotton from the Gin to the storage yard to stay until purchased or otherwise sold to someone down the textile lineage. As he moved the bail he approached it with...

Thank you to Jacknifeben and steve99f: I would bet that the big devil had not been apart in 50-60 years. Darn near grown together. I will try a photo tomorrow. I knew it was a slot I just did not have the stones to apply the pressure it took.
