Massachusetts Meetup?
Not sure if this kind of thing ever works out, or if there are even all that many ppl here from MA, CT, NH, RI, but anyone ever arrange a meetup? Maybe load up a roll of your favorites and meet up for lunch and some show and tell? Anyone ever interested in anything like that?

Love this blade shape
Love this blade shape (kind of an aggressive sheep’s foot, maybe?), but the knife itself is a little small. Would love a larger knife with the same blade type. Gotta be a single blade as well. Anyone got any ideas?

Blade blanks
Ok, y’all, where does one score a nice variety of pre-beveled slipjoint blade blanks? Not sure if I’m asking correctly. I know you can get completely flat blade blank “slabs” (I’ve got a bunch of those already, but don’t have the tools or the skill to put a bevel on them so they can be sharpened, di...

Re: Post Your "Hammer Brand" Knifes !!!
I have the 4 Hammer Brand cattle knives pictured here. They all are or were shell handled. I did a conversion on the one on the far right. When I got it, it was missing one of the shell handles and the other was damaged. New brass liners and bolsters were made and ironwood handle material installed...

Re: What's your last knife of 2022?
I guess this would have been The last knife I received in 2022 (technically, it came in a shipment with some other junk pieces, so I guess it was ONE OF the last ones I received). Fixed and modded into a slim single blade.

New project
New project. Gonna slim this rusted shut, broken scaled old Gamble Stokes (I think that is what the tang says, hard to tell) down to a slim single blade with the Wenge wood scales. Gonna look pretty sweet!!

Just got my first storage roll
I just picked up my first roll for storage. Came as a bonus in a recent a bulk knife purchase. Just never got around to getting one before. Loaded it up with some favorites from the stash, looks pretty great! Think I might have to pick up some more!

New pattern for the stash..
Just stumbled across my first doctor’s knife. Don’t know much about the maker (Tayler Cutlery), but this thing is pretty sweet. Flawless MOP, blade and snap. Bout the only thing to really complain about is the scratches on the bolster. I mean I don’t know, maybe it’s not technically a doctor, since ...

Wood scales, sandpaper grit, finishing touches..
Ok, y’all, couple questions for some different perspectives, please.
1. When sanding wooden scales what grit do you finish up with? What progression do you use?
2. When done sanding, what do you finish up with? Stain? Just oil? Then what? Poly?
Thanks!

Re: Stocking up on scale material
Very cool. Is any of that oak? I have a real fondness for oak trees, and have always wanted a knife handled in oak, but have not found the right one yet. What are your thoughts on oak as a handle material? Hey, man. None of that is oak, but I do re-handle plenty of stuff with oak. Not necessarily b...
