Re: Cool Old Tools

Found this at a thrift store for 3 bucks. I grabbed it because.....it's heavy? It's metal? Seemed cool. But I don't honestly know what it is. Can anyone help me out here. What is this? The green base plate is about 8 inches long. Lever on top has a spring. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sysq7lPUe...

Re: couple of stones

But at 50 cents each, I had to snag them. The Norton stone is a good buy. It looks like it's at least 6" long. If you want to use oil with it I would suggest mineral oil. Is the stone two sided? Personally, I like to use water on my stones. I think it allows the stone to cut better. The Silico...

couple of stones

Wife took me to 100-mile garage sales here in Oklahoma this weekend - I really had to go to keep an eye on her. But, I did find me a couple of goodies along the way. Here are two of them: 1) a Norton Bear Brand Sharpening Stone, Oil Filled; says to use Bear Oil with it. Use just a little, not a grov...

Re: Show off your Winchester Knives

I took some pictures last night of my Blue Grass Winchesters. Burnt orange bone mainly, Cartridge, Rifle and a few Buffalo Head Series knives. Also two *edit Glitter Stripes that I keep open and isolated due to outgassing. First I've had them out in a while but my interest is renewed, thanks to thi...

Re: KNIFE FINDS OF THE DAY

Thanks tvic - I think I kinda got a little tricked. I was dealing with the fella and he said if I bought both (Remingtons) he'd make a deal. I was looking the knives over and he said "come with both boxes and the paperwork" I could see it in the box under the wrapping paper and never thou...

Re: Vintage Store Knife Display Boards

Very nice now you have to fill it up! oh boy. It did come with four knives and three sheaths. So, I could be partway there. And although a Vic is my EDC, honestly, I carry it for the toothpick, I am not a huge SAK superfan. I am carrying a nice Moore Maker also that I received from Cody6268 in the ...

Re: Odd Or Unique Places You Have Gotten Or Purchased Knives

But, there was a glitch before the deal finalized. I didn't quite have enough money with me, so I had to borrow some from my wife to pay for them. You can imagine what a show that was ::facepalm:: for all there to see! Short story, she had some fun with me in front of the women, but didn't make me ...
