Re: It's a killer knives
I’ve known George since 1997, when I met him at the The New England Cutlery Collectors show in Waterbury, CT. I have no idea how many knives I’ve bought from him. Calling out an AAPK member in such a manner is low-brow. I hope he does have his lawyer give you a call. You have attempted to compromis...

Old fart and young heeler. Me and Petey. I've had a hammerheaded heeler in my life since 1980. They've all been great dogs. They're a handful but you will have to look hard to find a more devoted dog even though they'll try you every day in some form or fashion. The blue dog is Patches. She's my wif...

Been using straights for 15 yrs. Learning curve is steep and can be painful. If your razor will not cut arm hair above the skin, it's dull and will give you a miserable experience. Blade angle against your skin is the key. Keep the blade nearly flat against your face. Stretch loose skin on your neck...

Re: What reason for rope blade shape?
Admiralty law "back in tbe day" of wooden ships and iron men stated that sailors were forbidden to have a knife with a pointed blade. If a man was found to have a knife with a pointed blade, the ship's Master at Arms would break the point off the blade. Perhaps from fear of mutinous mayhem...

Well done. Makes you wonder how anyone could have shaved with a frown like that. I guess the old hands were tough.
I ought to sort through my pile and see if there's any you might want to mess with. I've got about a 60 day rotation now and am pretty much out of the mood to rework any more.

I've got one with matching blue paint, hawk bill blade, and advertising logo on the blade. Paint was also on the frame of mine.
Perhaps they did their advertising versions in blue.

Old school. ::tu:: I'm not much on muzzle loaders but that unmolested Springfield is treasure. ::ds:: That's a MKI made for the Perdersen Device with a oddball scant stock. Most all had the straight grip stocks. Barrel date Jan, 1919. S/N is about that too. Doesn't appear to have ever been issued. ...

Nice marque! ::tu:: I am hoping to learn something here; my impression is that almost all American razors were imported from England and Germany? Late 18th until late 19th century, England had the cutlery market pretty well to themselves and exported their wares worldwide. In the 1890s, the Germans...

That is a beauty! And it's the first I've seen.
Thanks for confirming about what age I figured they'd be.
As for HSB, I'm thinking they did pretty much whatever was available from whoever they contracted their knives from. I've seen several NYK versions of knives with HSB markings.
