Check out Rangerbluedog's band.....
Check this out, my band is participating in an online "battle of the bands" to raise money for our local United Way. We are in the Final Four, and our video this time is pretty funny. Y'all check out our version of Sharp Dressed Man, by ZZ Top. Watch closely, you will see some funny stuff....

Re: Unusual Boker Equal end Senator Pen knife ID???
I think that is what Boker called their "Iridescent" pyralin (celluloid) handles in the 1920s.
Here are some catalog cuts from 1925 and 1928 with this handle material illustrated.

I can't look at a knife with yellow bone handles any more without remembering "justold52".

Re: Couple questions about a Schrade Uncle Henry knife
Schrade began using the Schrade+ tang stamp in the early 1980s, and went out of business in 2004 - so some time in that 30 year span is as close as I can get. As to why they're not so popular, I will venture a guess. A lot of people don't like the scale material. It doesn't really look natural. Pers...

Re: I MUST HAVE THESE! - Stuff from the 2021 Boker USA Catalog.
Yep, you usually find the retail prices about 50-60% of the MSRP listed in the catalog.
Still a little high, but knives coming from Germany pay a 25% tariff coming to the U.S.

When I joined AAPK on Dec 3, 2009, I had no idea that this jumble of electrons in a quiet corner of the internet would quite literally change my life. I'm proud of this place that Bryan and his band of administrators keep on track, and all the friends I've made here in the past 11 years. I'm happy t...

Re: Unusual Boker Pen Knife
Beautiful old mint condition knife from the 1950s! ::tu:: That blade etch first showed up in 1950s catalogs, while the tang stamp ceased to be used in the late 1950s. The tree stamps on the reverse tang usually indicate pre-WW2 knives, but as was stated, this knife may have been made with pre-war bl...

Re: Newer numbering system
The latest I remember is the first two numbers indicate folding (11) versus fixed blade (12).
The next four numbers indicate the pattern number (5464 is a congress pattern), and the letters at the end indicate the handle material (JRB = jigged red bone).
