Friodur j a henckels

J.A. Henckels is a Solingen, Germany based knife manufacturer that dates back to 1731. The company's Zwilling (twin) logo is known to be one of the oldest trademarks in the world. Throughout the company's history, it has made some of the world's finest pocket knives, kitchen knives, scissors & flatwear. In 1960 Henckels ceased their pocket knife production and started having other companies make knives for them on contract. Boker has been one of the main producers of more recent Henckels products.

An everyday carry side knife owned by many German men and carried in their lederhosen, belt or boots. Sometimes called a jagdmesser or knicker, or nicker. Your example is quite nice. ::tu::

Is there a hole on the tip of the scabbard?

Tip, not top.
The scabbard for this pattern knife usually comes to a point where as yours is squared off as if the tip piece is missing.

What Roland said except not a piece of the tip missing, rather if there is a threaded hole then a fork would screw into the scabbard and would serve as the handle. That's the reason I asked if the tip of the scabbard had a hole in it. A unique and rare combination, I have such a set around here somewhere.
