J A Henckels 813 pocket knife/stockman

Post by GSPTOPDOG »

Hi, I have had this J A Henckels 813 pocket knife/stockman for many years. I always thought it was made in the 60's. I have carried it and used it and it has been a good knife. I really like the thick spine on the main blade and the stag scales. I have not found much information on it. Anyone have an Idea when it was made, etc... etc...?

I have one very similar to yours, except mine has a spear main blade while yours has a clip. The pattern is not a stockman, but is a whittler. Whittlers typically have a thicker main blade as they use both springs to bear on the main, while the two small blades each have their own spring. Not sure about manufacture date.
