Accepting Checks
Accepting Checks
When you have been notified that the buyer has indicated that he is going to pay for the item with a check does this mean that AAPK has already verified that this person is who they say they are and their check is good? According to my bank there is no way they can verify an out of state check. They say deposit it and let it go through. If it is bad they will notify me within 10 days. Does AAPK have a policy on this subject? Is there a standard fee for returned bad checks? There is going to be a lengthy delay in shipping.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

Re: Accepting Checks
AAPK does not verify the authenticity of any check payments. We recommend that you treat your payments in the same manner as an independent retailer.
For personal checks, the only full-proof safeguard is to hold shipment until the check clears.
