Re: Lets see those Parker's
Here is another Bill Feeney scrimshaw done on a Parker knife. This one has a 25,000 year old mammoth ivory slab on the front and white bone on the back. Foam in the display is disintegrating. I need to rebuild it.
Knife has mirror-polished blades and half-stops.

I don't always respond to great posts but I always appreciate seeing them. Thanks for posting!

The knife, the ivory, the scrimshaw all = a splendid knife.

Parker Cut. Co. I kept out of a collection of customs purchased a few years back. Just thought it was a nice little knife and it does feel good in the hand.

My first Parker knife. American Blade brand from 1983. It has a few problems but overall I like it. 3.5" closed with a locking main clip plus a smaller clip and coping blade on the other end. Kind of a different locking mechanism that hangs every now and then when you try to close the blade. Hopefully will improve with use.

Was doing some Research and found out Parker made Some knives for Sears / Craftsman. There’s a 1988/ 89 Trapper that might have to check out for my Craftsman Corner .
Let me know what you think of yours after toting it around for a bit .
Take care down there.

Re: Lets see those Parker's
I noticed some trappers on Ebay that were Parker-Edwards made in Alabama. I read that the factory became Bear Mfg later. Haven't seen anything about Craftsman though.Ripster wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 8:45 pmNick ,like that patternCluelessNick wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 8:13 pm My first Parker knife. I like the made-in-Japan Parkers like this 3 3/8" Mini Trapper

Re: Lets see those Parker's
Agreed. They are good knives.
Re: Lets see those Parker's
I recently noticed a Parker with two roosters etched on the main, and a big honkin' cockspur saw as a second blade. Is anyone familiar with it? Is it a genuine Parker Custom, or a clever throw-together knife ?
Thanks for any help (and yes, I've read the cockspur threads).

Re: Lets see those Parker's
I recently received this Frost Cutlery folder, and it's a big ole' knife! Measures 10" oal/SS spear-point blade with n/n, NS bolsters, brass pins, and what I think are Rosewood covers. Has a comfortable weight of about 8 oz.'s, and arrived freshly sharpened by my friend Mark from SSk. There is an etch of a graveyard on the blade, and a stamp of 131 on the bolster, as well as Frost's logo and "Frost Cutlery/Surgical Steel/Japan" tang stamp. Walks open smoothly with a solid half-stop, and talks loudly when closing. A nice big knife to add to my collection!

I like that one, Mark. Does the pattern have any kind of name? I'm wondering if the graveyard etch is because the handle is somewhat shaped like a coffin.Madmarco wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:19 pm I recently received this Frost Cutlery folder, and it's a big ole' knife! Re: Lets see those Parker's
I'm afraid I don't have a pattern name for you Rick. It was won on auction from Ebay and the only description was what I provided. I didn't make the connection between the etch and the coffin shaped handle, but now that you mention it, I'm sure they're connected. I'll do a little research and see if I can come up with a pattern name. Thanks for the compliment!Railsplitter wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:30 pmI like that one, Mark. Yah, it's a big one Bear. When you have this knife in-hand you know you're holding a substantial knife, just the way I like em'.MechanicalBear wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 7:51 pmWow , that's a big knife!Madmarco wrote: ↑Mon May 17, 2021 8:19 pm I recently received this Frost Cutlery folder, and it's a big ole' knife! That is one lovely knife Q. I too am partial to single-blade knives, and yours with those gorgeous stag covers is just exceptional. Very nice and congratulations on that find.

Re: Lets see those Parker's
No posts in this thread for about a month so I'm pleased to say I have this one to show you guys! It is similar to the knife that BigBore posted on March 31st/2018, but mine is only a 1 blade that's bayonet ground instead of the 2 blade clip-point B.B. showed. It's an 11" oal Parker "Jumbo" folder/SS bayonet blade with n/n and etches, N/S bolsters with engravings on both sides, brass liners and pins, forward lockback blade release, and thick jigged brown/white stag covers with N/S oval inlay. Hand made in Japan in the 1980's by the late Tak Fukutu. Sorry bout' the glare!
Re: Lets see those Parker's
I'm having trouble finding any information on this Parker Cut knife. I assume it was part of a bicentennial set? Trying to establish fair value as I liquidate a friends estate. thanks for any help you can provide....

Re: Lets see those Parker's
I can't help with your questions J., but an internet search of any tang numbers or stamps might produce results. And, to AAPK!
Re: Lets see those Parker's
Really difficult to establish any kind of value (fair or otherwise) on Parker knives. Generally they are not highly sought after by knife collectors even though they are fairly decent knives for the most part. The fact that yours is part of a set and appears to be in good condition will likely make it somewhat more desirable...but I wouldn't expect it to fetch a high dollar amount.
My advice is to put it up for auction on eBay with a minimum opening bid amount that you would be satisfied with in the event you get only one bidder and that's what it ends up selling for. Another option is to pick a random amount that is about twice what you'd like to get for it (like $69.99) but add a Best Offer option. If it doesn't sell in a week, lower the price and relist it...eventually someone will buy it, and you might even get lucky and have several bidders drive up the price. But, if you set a Buy It Now price that is too high it will not sell and eBay surfers will simply ignore it and just keep passing it by regardless of how many times it gets relisted.
JMO, YMMV.

I would like to point out that Mr. Spivey is the maker of the formidable Sabertooth knife which can well handle any task encountered in the field.
Among other accomplishments, Mr. Spivey rode solo on his horse from coast to coast and made another horseback trip from the Canadian and Mexican borders.
