Roger. The second picture down. Are those knife catalogs? From what years? All the displays look amazing.

Holy Toledo Roger! That is a fantastic display of Maher & Grosh knives and ephemera - very impressive.
Re: Knife show display
I've had the pleasure of seeing that display in person and it's impressive for sure.

Thanks Jerry, finding some old ephemera is almost as fun as finding a really good knife.

Re: Knife show display
A great display, Roger. A lot of time and effort, not to mention expense, went into that display.
The book "On The Road to Riches" is intriguing. Who is the author? Is it cutlery related?
Thanks.

Re: Knife show display
Joe the book was written by William H Maher in 1878.It was written about how to get rich. From what I have read it was required reading by many college MBA programs for upwards of 50 years on the art of selling. It was published one year after he and Emil Grosh started doing business.

Very nice display Roger!
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Re: Knife show display
Emil Grosh was the older of the 2.They both previously had worked for hardware firms before they partnered up and started their own business. Maher appears to have been more involved in outside interests than Grosh.Maher bought out Grosh in 1900 if my memory serves me.Grosh drown a few years later and Maher passed in 1913.Maher's son in law ran the company until 1962 or so.pearlroosterman wrote:How about Grosh......
