Re: Show off your Maher and Grosh knives
Hmm, no replies on manufacturer of above ivory M&G. Still time to post !
Here is another M&G i just found in my own house, a 3 5/8" Sleeveboard Whittler with ebony handles, amazingly dark and dense. Blades look full to me. It is a lovely knife, solid & smooth as the day it got adopted (purchased).
So far i have not met a M&G knife that i didn't like.

Re: Show off your Maher and Grosh knives
Here is another M&G i just found, 3 7/8" 'Trapper Jack' is what i call it but might not be the correct name. Well used but still very attractive in part due to the large swage on both sides of clip blade.
I think this would be an excellent one to reproduce. What do you think ?

Roland, that name is as good as any.I have also heard them called half trappers.I believe they pre date the trapper pattern.Your knife was made by Miller Brothers.

Great name ! Stay true for a Total Home Run, beginning with the name: "Announcing: El Diablo", maybe even one pimped up with fine bluish mammoth.
I'm just getting carried away. It's in my hand now, nice pattern.

Looks good.
Maybe you can get some reproductions of that one made some day.
Heck, I'd buy one if I could afford it.

Re: Show off your Maher and Grosh knives
Hey Guys, Here are a couple more interesting Maher knives. It may be hard to tell from the pics but both knives are same size 3 3/4" Closed.
One knife has a much thicker backspring & Master blade & The extra handle pin on front side is located in a different spot than its twin sister knife. The knife that has Etching & long pulls on both blades is the knife with "smaller" thickness blade & backspring but also has a "Curved Stamping" secondary blade. Cool huh

Re: Show off your Maher and Grosh knives
Those jacks have some age.Lightly very early 1900's late 1800's.The top knives I haven't seen anything like it before.I think it is re-handled.Undyed bone and carved.I would speculate it had pearl that was damaged.

Re: Show off your Maher and Grosh knives
The ~3" swell center pen looks like front handle is ivory and rear is a replacement with bone ? Stanhope viewer with lens missing ?
Here is a nice old 3 5/16" Maher & Grosh pen knife. Solid knife with nicely rounded handles.
