William H. Maher and Emil Grosh started the Maher & Grosh Wholesale Cutlery Co. in 1877 with a goal to sell high quality US manufactured cutlery globally. The original business dissolved in 1988, but the brand has since been resurrected.
Nilo Miori was president of Camillus Cutlery from 1963-87.He had worked for Albert Baer for over 50 years in his related companies. He had in his possession the Ulster factory collection among other things.Sometime after his death his family had the collection appraised and it was sold.Among the collection were knives made by Ulster for other companies including Maher & Grosh. There were also a couple of knives made by someone else for M&G for some unknown reason. A few years ago I had a chance to buy the Maher & Grosh knives from the collection. I bought most and after thinking about it went back and bought the other 2.I liked the idea of keeping them together has they had been for many years.
