I have one of the pick bone boys and both of the Yankee Whittlers. What wonderful knives these are, and judging from some of the originals I’ve fondled, I would say they are every bit as great as their ancestors!!
Thank you Ken and Roger for bringing these beauties to us and showing the younger among us how knives were made over a hundred years ago!

This knife did not get its due when the 15s came out. Likely the best 15 from GEC. The quintessential shield, impeccably finished, all steel, cool etch. If this were to be carried, I would probably remove the bail and chain but it will only be admired. Anyway just wanted to express my admiration for this one.

Re: Next
Well, since GEC put us on the production schedule I guess we will go ahead with what is next.It is a new GEC pattern #29.We will call it #334 and the Texas Ranger. It will be available in 3 handle choices,Antique yellow jigged bone, smooth Appaloosa bone and Gabon Ebony. It will vary from GEC`s regular production as it will have a short spey instead of a punch. It will also have a crest shield. The last they told us was to expect production the in of July,1st of August.

Oh yes please! As both a welder and plumber. I’d love a knife with a presto lite hole. Lots and lots of old car guys would love one too. As long as it looked period correct.Old Folder wrote:I'm hoping for any pattern, as long as it has a "Prest-o-Lite" on one blade.
Please-Please-Please do not call that little square hole a "Skate Key"

A "Prest-o-Lite" bladed folder would be a instant sellout and an education to the youngsters.
Perhaps it's on Roger and Ken's future plans?

Yeah, I'm gonna say that will be a hot seller. Best be on your toes for that release.FRJ wrote:Thank you, Roger and Greg.
I always like to buy Rogers offerings but now I know I want one.
That's a good looking knife and the spey is just fine with me although the punch wouldn't bother me in the least.

Re: Next
Thanks Greg. A third spring makes for a 'bigger' knife. It feels quite different in hand or in pocket from a 2 spring version.
I guess the advantage is if a spring breaks it can only disable 1 blade. And there is no need to crink 2 of the blades.
As a purist i could not call any 3 spring blade set up a "whittler".
