Marbles Gladstone 2 line time period
I've been trying to do some research on the Marbles Ideal knife. Is there a record of how long the MARBLES over GLADSTONE.MICH.USA (2 line) stamping was used?
Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I know that stamp is what collectors refer to as the "axe stamp". My memory's a little foggy on exact dates used but I think 1918-1940. And I believe it was only used on 7" blade and longer Ideals.

Dunathan agrees with you on that (he says 1918 to WWII). If it 'twern't for reference books I'd be lost in the forest.
Very sweet stag on stag, thanks for posting.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

I'm got a 10" Trailmaker and a 7" Ideal with the 2 line stamp to add to this thread. Hard to believe they're pushing 100.

Thanks to you both!
This helps out tremendously, I'd read somewhere that the stag pommel use was stopped earlier on before or during the war, but maybe got my wires crossed....doesn't take much nowadays

Thanks for sharing your 2 line knives
By the way, is there anywhere posted or in the books available that show all the different variations of the stamping and the dates associated??
I noticed that your letter A in marbles looks a little different than the one on mine...

This is the best book imho on Marbles. Problem is there hard to find now and pricey. They pop up on the bay occasionally.
