Northwoods Little Bay

The Northwoods Knife brand name originated in Gladstone, Michigan when a man named Dave Shirley adopted it as his knife company's name in 2004. Dave was well known for collaborating with popular knife companies to have knives made to his specifications for resale well before 2004 & beyond. KnivesShipFree bought Northwoods from Dave & has continued to team up with respected makers to produce knives marked with the Northwoods brand name.

The little Clip blade on these 2017 produced Little Bays is hard to resist. Typing this post makes me want stick the Denim Micarta in my pocket.

I'm right there with you, Sag. It's already seen pocket time. I'm just not quite ready to change up my EDC just yet. It will see more pocket time. Of that I am certain.

Despite it's small 3" size, every post i have seen on this knife is positive. Most people really like it, more even than they thought they would, and say "there's just something about it--". I guess i do need one. The red Micarta is calling.

Thanks for the compliments. Before these were released this summer, my favorite GEC on the #25 frame had always been the single blade Easy Open with a Sheepsfoot blade. I still have one of those but this Little Bay has taken its place as number 1 despite the fact that I can't pinch it open.

The long pull is pretty easy on my thumbnail. The top edge where my thumbnail digs in isn't rough or sharp like I find on some knives. The bolsters and liners are steel. No brass which I also think goes very well with this pattern.

Your picture above shows how precise the construction is: tight like a Bose.

I'm with you fellas, it's a great carry although this is backup size for me. I don't usually go for 'colors' but this one has really grown on me. I just love it!
