Northwoods Fremont
this was my first Northwoods knife. One morning a couple years ago I'm sitting at my desk going thru emails and I've got one from KSF offering up a super-secret-uber-limited-extended-run of the Fremont Jack in pre-ban Elephant Ivory. So I says, what the heck, let me try one. Apparently it wasn't offered with ivory in the original run. The fit and finish is just amazing and now that I've picked up a couple other Bohn/NW offerings I've got to say, the walk and talk is second to..not many. Rock solid thru the half stop and beyond. beautiful little knives they are.
-the problem with society today is, no one drinks from the skulls of their dead enemies anymore..-

The Fremont is one of my co-favorite Northwoods (Presidential is the other). I was hoping to get 1 camel bone in the shopping cart frenzy and ended up with 2 as I was clicking through the checkout process. I bought the black micarta to carry. It's a nice feeling knife in the pocket.

Re: Northwoods Fremont
Great looking Fremonts you've got there! Definitely my grail knife. I didn't know they did a run of them in 2017. Does anyone know how many runs of Fremonts have been made, and when they were released?

One of the better "investment" knives I've ever owned. Loved the knife, but, as with all my Northwoods knives, it just didn't do well being stored in the humid, salt-air tropical climate where I live and was starting to spot despite all my efforts to prevent it. Can't complain about the more than double return on original purchase price, though...makes up for a lot of losses on other knives.

That is a nice knife indeed, Q. Sounds like you sold it. Sure wish I could get ahold of one now!

Re: Northwoods Fremont
Was there a recent Fremont run ? I would sure like one with the toothy handles, current or extinct, but i bet the current owners are not selling.
I think there are not that many 'out there'.

KJ, this may be the only place to find one. You can’t sell these ivory ones on eBay. W/ states banning sales of mammoth ivory too, it may be soon that you can’t sell those on eBay either. This kind of nonsense is causing me to have reservations about buying anything ivory and starting to question mammoth ivory purchases as well.
I love these Freemonts, there isn’t a bad one in the whole bunch.
Steve that ivory one is pretty sweet.

Greg, the new giraffe is a Beauty. You are finding quite a few top GEC knives. I am always on the look out for ivory or mammoth GEC's but so far no luck. But finances are low so it's probably a good thing.

I wish there had been an ivory or mammoth #35 Churchill. I know, this is out of place in a Fremont thread but i wanted to post it.

Re: Northwoods Fremont
I've had this Fremont in pocket quite often lately. There's good reason it's so popular. Pity the factory hasn't had but one run of the 79 workhorse.

Here is a Stag Fremont that just sold by auction on ebay for $666. Very fine stag and rather high price.

Fremonts are one of my top two Northwoods patterns. I’m somewhat new to the Northwoods line, but have been fortunate to acquire a few. Here is one in stag.
I’m a long time collector in search of rare and limited GEC AND Northwoods knives. Always looking to add ivory pieces to my collection. PM to discuss sales or trades, please!
