I rediscovered my Lansky

Post by NapalmSloth »

Today, I watched a video from SMKW called Sharpening 101. It went into great detail on sharpening vs. honing.
It also showed up close drawings on the blade and what you want to achieve.
He also sets up a Wicked Edge system and sharpens a knife on it.
That made me get my two lansky systems out and use it, now that I know what to look for while sharpening.

Anyway, here is a link to the video. Hope it help y’all like it did me.

Used my Lansky last Thursday to sharpen my Hinderer XM-18 3 in M390. The factory edge just seemed to be lacking the cutting ability I get with other M390 knives, so I decided to try and fix that. And boy did I! Very happy with the edge now, pictures to illustrate my method. ::tu:: ::tu::
