What is a "Spike Hone" for ?
Marlin Spikes are not meant to come to a needle sharp point.

I don't think the "Spike Hone" he linked to is for sharpening straight razors ?

...the "Spike Hone" he linked to...
That's a 'ten four good buddy' since when I hit that link, no photos or data on Special Spike hones popped up: just very nice razors.

Likewise, when I clicked on the tab at the top right called, 'Restoration and Honing Tools' on the same page, it took me to a URL with no hones listed whatsoever and only had,
...Error connect MySQL database.
It could have been there before, but it must be on break for now. ::shrug::

Thanks for the effort anyway.

Fellers, I'm a bit puzzled. ::shrug::
The razor hone that is labeled, Special Spike Hone, appears to be made as a companion to the Union Cutlery Co. straight razor by the name of "The Spike Razor." The box in the OP says Razor Hone. Razor hone values are all over the place from $15.00 up to $300-$400. That one, I would guess, would be in the $50.00 range, it is good shape, two sided and the box looks very well preserved.
