No not from a class. I do get that a lot though. When people see Huntsville, we are known for our prisons . I've seen some amazing leather work come out of the craft departments. But I've never worked for or been in TDCJ

I'm self taught. Never took any classes. Lot of practice and trail and error.

Made a dozen of these for a buddy of mine so everyone at the ranch could have one. Holds a 4-1/8" trapper (case 54 pat) is what they all use

I had a friend that was self taught too. He made leather work look easy. I figured...."Man, I can do this..." Boy was I wrong.

Eye Brand man your top sheath is like the famous Marble's Coquina sheath..
it also held 2 knives and a sharpening steel, only made from 1902-06
I got Michigan Leathersmith Jack Mosher to sell me one of only 6 or so he made,
mine is made of Horse Hide, tooled with the old Marble's Cattails on it

That's very nice stagman I loosely based mine on it. I seen one in an old magazine about Buffalo hunters and I patterned mine by eye of it.

Well you did a great job on it and I like your choice of knives...
look like old Russell pattern knives, always seen one of them curved
ones in them buffalo hunters rigs...
Marble's had 2 stag knives and a stag steel...really like the stag steel
ya got with yours..that's a kick ..., well you know.. rig buddy !!!
Got to feel proud putting it all together from a picture in a book !!!
just another example that makes the hobby so fascinating !!!
