Holster making tip?

Post by wizrd »

If you are trying to duplicate another holster - precise measurements of the holster can be taken by using blue painters masking tape, wrapped around the holster you are trying to duplicate. I've done a few of them, for some friends, and it makes the duplication project really easy. But most of you guys probably already know this. I'm just a novice here, studying at the feet of the Masters. Be well, my Brothers.

I have also done a lot of this type of thing with uneven results. The problem is after you stitch up a holster it is wet molded to the actual gun. By measuring it the way you describe, you are measuring the holster after the stretching process. Some areas stretch more than others and distort the results.
