Build in sheath

My son finished my chinks last night. He built in a sheath for my svord. It has been laying on my work bench waiting for the plastic to be replaced by bone or walnut. Guess I better get that done now.

Those chinks really turned out great!

While some "peasant' type knives never meshed with me (Okapi, Opinel), the Svord, along with the Mercator did. The Svord is very simple, can be one-hand opened, uses tough carbon steel, and I can fully disassemble the knife for cleaning by just taking out two screws.

That's what I like about it also. We generally go on cattle round ups in late October and November. I like the Svord because it is easy to clean the dirt and water/snow out.

I did a search for Svord on Ebay and came up with nothing. What is it?

Look for Svord peasant knife. Usually New Zealand. My daughter did her student teaching abroad in NZ which is how I got into them.
