Decided to make up some Buck 110 Pancake sheaths. Right hand carry. Straight up and down style. What you folks think? Any buck fans?

Re: Buck 110 Pancake sheath
Looks great!
I have found the open-top friction-fit leather sheaths, for fixed or folder, have rarely resulted in me getting a knife lost, and are much more secure than clips. A few months back, I hooked a virtually brand-new Leatherman tool's clip (the new Bond model) with a trash bag at the county dump, and accidentally threw it away. I asked the clerk at the office, and, well, obviously I was prohibited from retrieving it, and if someone got it, they would call back. That was in January. I bet you five bucks a dump employee pocketed it. And if I find an employee with a Bond, and it's got the 1021 date codes, it's my tool; and for danged sure, I'm making them give it back; because it was the dump's own policies that kept me from retrieving it. If the county still ran the dump, I'm sure I would likely have been able to retrieve it. They sold it to a waste management firm out of Tennessee a couple of years back.
From then on out, my multitools were either dumped in my pocket or carried on a belt sheath. If they had a clip, I'd hook it on the belt sheath so that it helped to secure the tool under the flap.

Re: Buck 110 Pancake sheath
I personally don't like the clips for that reason. Sorry to hear you lost your leatherman! I like a single loop belt carry myself. That being said the pancakes are very secure. Long as the knife sits deep enough and fits well I find them very secure imocody6268 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 7:39 pm Looks great!

Re: Buck 110 Pancake sheath
Those look great! I have a pancake sheath that has a slight diagonal tilt that I like to carry my Buck 110 or my LB7 in. Both knives fit well with good retention.

Re: Buck 110 Pancake sheath
Thanks Phil! I debated the tilt and I may make some up that way too
