I've seen Junior Brown a few times at the Birchmere in Arlandria, he's quite entertaining. The first time he had a stand-up bass player with him, that was a real treat.

Don Williams was always one that I enjoyed. Thanks for that one Ryan - one of many great songs he did.

Here’s one I think I posted a few years ago. Just heard it again which reminded me what amazing talent some songwriters have for making great songs from common events. In this case an uncommon, but well known event. This one will get your toe tappin too. ::tu::

I think I posted this before.. well no matter, it needs posted again 😁.. Eddie's guitar work in this one is just off the charts!!👍👍😁😁.. his tone is all in his fingers, no effect peddles, gimmicks, etc... I believe he is all of 22 years old here.. if only the Lord let us have him a little longer...RIP, Eddie.. you will not be forgotten... and oh-- I've said it before-The Rolling Stones top 100 guitarist list is laughable 🤣.. Not saying Eddie was the best ever, but they put Kurt effen' Cobain in the top 10 I believe.. get real...

Ryan I believe Eddy was about 18 when that was made. He was touring with the Allman Brothers when he was 14. I was fortunate to see him with his dad Billy Joe Shaver sometime mid-90s after their album “Tramp on Your Street” was released. Best guitar player I’ve ever seen live, and I’ve seen some good ones. Eddy was in Dwight Yoakum’s band for a few years so there’s some good stuff on YouTube from those days. Sometimes his guitar picking stole the show from Dwight but of course you have to listen because the camera was usually on Dwight.

Here’s a good example - Eddy shreds it with a guitar solo starting at about 2:20 into this.

Thanks for that, Ken! I've seen most videos of Eddie playing with whoever.. He toured with Guy Clark when Guynplugged in for awhile in the late 70s early 80s... What a talented player.. all in his fingers...

Here's a few I've posted before, I'll post them again 😁.. I believe Eddie is 17 or 18 in these two..

By far the best version i've ever heard... Country rock @ it's finest.

As long as guys like this keep coming along, country music will stay alive. Of course it might help if they’d just play some of them on the radio………… ::facepalm::

M-peg: They're great! Good to hear them.

Radio play is nearly impossible on the big syndicated stations, all handled by deals with production companies and agents, very expensive for a small band. We stupidly tried sending some CD's to big stations and usually didn't get any response at all. Then we researched a list of local and independent Bluegrass and Country stations around the country and sent them copies of our CD's. Dozens of them put us on and sent us copies of their playlist records. They are required to maintain playlists for BMI, ASCAP, and probably the FCC. Also, "Public" radio (NPR affiliates who feature regional programming welcomed us.) These stations can give bands like the one you posted pretty broad airplay and add to their promotional portfolio.

Hope those guys do well. J.O'.

My new favorite song, courtesy of my wife of 50 years. She found this - says it describes me (and her) Guy Clark CDs, cowboy boots and all. ::facepalm::
