Willie's new song/album.

Post by Ridgegrass »

Anybody heard Willie's new song and album. Title track is "FIRST ROSE OF SPRING". Absolutely beautiful! Willie seems best when he sings and plays the least, like the RED HEADED STRANGER album. Just Willie playing for himself. Catch it on YouTube. 87 years old and just as good as ever.

Just heard the entire "FIRST ROSE OF SPRING" CD. J.M.O. but it may be one of his best productions. Seems very personal. J.O'.

I actually saw Willie a few years ago at what was then Nissan Pavilion in Manassas, VA. Believe it or not he opened for Korn and did an amazing job. Yes, my music tastes are all over the genres, more often than not I like listening to music from the 1920's.

In my opinion Willie sounds better now than he ever did. Like a very old fiddle that has mellowed with time. J.O'.

Willie. That album is so good it's hard to pick a favorite but Blue Star sure makes the top 3. I really like 'Stealin' Home" too. Beautifully written. ::tu:: ::tu:: J.O'.

Yup!
The way the rhythm section is laid down, hooked me. It's the kind I personally love, love to play... ::tu::
