My first Cattaraugus arrived today

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

That's just a fun name to say Katar-ah-goose. Should just call em goose knives. (or would that be geese then? oh well...)
Anyway, congrats , thats a nice design on that one.

Sadly, that is not an original Catt from Little Valley, NY. Maybe a rerun by A G Russell or J Parker?

I have seen an old Catt ad from the teens that said pronounced " Cat-a-raw-goose", yep they are goose knives. Nobody in the town of Cattaraugus or the county of the same name pronounces it this way today.

I am not a purist collection, so it’s good for me

It’s a Cattaraugus USA-1 (A.G. Russel) Brass Statue of Liberty 2 Blade Pen Knife

I’ll need to somehow validate it was/was not made in USA

If not,,, it’s back to eBay it goes!
