Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. Little Valley N.Y. 1886-1963

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

Don't think I posted these before but if I did ;sorry. Got it at an estate sale this past summer on the third day. Can't believe I missed it the first couple times of looking.Guess everybody was looking at all the KA-BAR Collector's Club knives. The others I've acquired since my first post in this thread in 2014. I have a couple of the small cleavers now and the one fish knife that has the boar's head on the handle isn't marked but it looks like the other ones I have that are.The Catt folding machete I had only the picture with the Case.

I got this 2 3/4" sleeve board jack and despite the fact that someone put it to a power sander, it's still sweet.
The blades are nice and tight and they are nice and snappy!
Love the stable covers.

Thanks for looking.

I bought a lot/group of 14 pocket knives just to get one particular pocket knife. This one, is not that particular pocket knife. I had to do some cleaning of the blades on this one. I thought I would find Germany or some other foreign tang stamp. I was quite surprised and pleased that it turned out to be a CATTARAUGUS - CUTLERY CO - LITTLE VALLEY - N.Y., 2 blades (what's left of them), 2 tang stamps, 2 3/4" closed, with beautiful mother of pearl handles. I can't find a pattern # stamp or its remains anywhere, if there ever was one. Even with the used blades, this piece of cutlery still has character. I took some pictures and here it is.
Caption(s), if any, are on the BOTTOM of the corresponding picture(s).

***** EDIT - I looked in my CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY CO catalog
and I believe that this pocket knife is a pattern/model # 22663. *****
