Cattaraugus Cut. Co. #11849

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

Cattaraugus Cut. Co. #11849

Post by Aaron43 »

I’m going through knives that my dad recently passed down to me that he and I collected when I was a kid. Looking to learn more about them. Does anyone have any info and value on this Cattaraugus?

The tang is stamped with “Cattaraugus Cutlery Co. with what appears to be “Little Valley” underneath. It is also stamped with #11849.

Also, the liner lock has “Patented July 3, 1906” stamped on it.

Gorgeous knife! You might get more results if you post your inquiry in the Cattaraugus forum.

Those handles almost don't need a blade. Lovely. ::nod::
