Keen Kutter was first used as a knife brand by Simmons Hardware Company in 1870. The trademark was used on the highest quality tools and cutlery Simmons offered.

Stan that's a fine one too. Love the shield in the shape of the KK logo. That was a great era for certain. Love seeing old stuff like this. Thanks again.

I've been meaning to ask this question for some time.
This is an old Keen Kutter that is pretty much used up, but do you think those
celluloid scales are the originals to the knife? I don't know a lot about Kutter's
because I don't see a lot of them down here in my neck of the woods.

I would say yes.
I have seen quite a few cell handled KKs.

Just pulled this one out of the mailbox yesterday.. Needs a little work, both blades sit a little proud when closed, and a good cleaning..

Thanks, Skip!🤝 I think after cleaning it today I'm just going to leave it as is and put it in my display of KK ephemera I'm putting together..the blades are to far gone to salvage it as an EDC.. when closed they both sit very proud and someone already ground the kicks off completely

This came, completely unexpected, in the mail today. A KEEN KUTTER 834, 2 blade, "Deer Head" handle pocket knife. Yes, the handles are two toned. It will make a most welcome resident in the zoo. A BIG thank you goes out to Smitty, aka Papa Bones, for a most generous gift. THANK YOU Smitty! 🍻 ::tu:: ::handshake::

Picked up this unusual Keen Kutter Wharncliffe whittler the other day as a BIN eBay, was just listed. No pattern number, all blades stamped E.C. Simmons Keen Kutter, looks to have little use, seller listed the size at 4" closed which does not correspond to any pattern in the Keen Kutter book so I would not be surprised if it is smaller when it actually shows up.
The pattern is an early pattern with those long slim pen blades, anyone ever seen another like this or have an idea what pattern number might be? Will take better pics when arrives.
