Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
Howdy folks, well I'd been looking a while now for a nice Keen Kutter, just purchased this peanut last week. Would love to find out if possible about what year the 915 was made, or any other info from our experts here....
Hope y'all are doing well and once again thanks in advance for your help.

Two beautiful knives, Roger!
Nice peanut, Gone2Three! It is a later one (after 1940) from during the Shapleigh era. I think likely made by Schrade?
Very nice find at a great price, Ray!

Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
The carving sets were once present in nearly every household. In my home it was used every Sunday for a sit down meal about 2pm. My father would steel the knife before carving the 'joint' (British term for "roast". After dinner i would carefully wash, dry and put away the carving set for use on the following Sunday.
Now i bet very few families use a carving set and if they have one likely it has been inherited from a previous generation.
Seeing the Keen Kutter carving set on the previous page brought back memories of Sundays past.

Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
Here is Keen Kutter barlow that looks and feels like a Camillus. It’s quite hefty and slightly larger than my other Keen Kutter barlows. The tang stamp is EC Simmons, but I have owned several more of this same barlow pattern that had the Shapleigh Keen Kutter stamp. I wonder if this was part of the last run of barlows sold by Simmons.
Re: Old Keen Kutter Knives
Let me try that again with pictures. Sorry guys, I’m a newbie.
