Schatt and Morgan Series IX

Schatt & Morgan knives were first manufacturer back in 1890. The Queen Cutlery company made most of the more recent examples, but Schatt had its own plant in its earlier years that cranked out the oldies. There is no shortage of fantastic Schatt & Morgan knives in existance that have been made over the brand's long & storied history.

Schatt and Morgan Series IX

Post by thawk »

I have a Schatt and Morgan Series IX Gunstock Jack. I thought this series was supposed to be a ATS-34, but mine is missing that portion of the etch. Anybody have any thoughts? Were some made in this series with another stainless steel?

So I guess some of them have an ATS-34 etch on the blade and some don't. I’ve always liked this series.

Found the stockman to go with the gunstock Jack. This stockman does have the ATS 34 etch. I have wanted this particular stockman for a very long time.

True...they put out quite a few in ATS-34 without the etch before they starting etching ATS34 - In actuality the etched examples are probably rarer.

I think I still have these two if anyone needs one. Mint in boxes.
