Nice, Homer! That whittler and barlow do make a good pairing.

Yes it is flips open better than I thought it would. They ought to make a one blade just for you fellers that like them. I'd probably get one myself.

I like your 1 blade idea Homer, but that's just my 1-track mind, ::facepalm:: I'm sure lots of folks love their multi-blade knives! 8)

This little beauty came recently in an order I'd placed with Jamie at JamieinWV, and it is one nice Rough Rider! It's their 6 1/2" oal R2285 slip-joint that has a SS Wharncliffe blade that has a swedge at the top-front and a pull, bushed SS bolsters, SS liners, black linen micarta covers, adjustable pivot, and lanyard hole. It gets some extra weight from the SS liners coming-in at about 3 oz.'s and came extremely sharp. It has one of the strongest pulls I've seen to date as well as an equally strong half-stop and detent. This knife displays an almost perfect fit n' finish. Not from the RRReserve series, but still a really nice knife! 8)

This final Rough Rider from an order from Jamie was delivered recently, and as it turns out, it's the best! It's the Rough Rider RRR015 "Hippo Toe" 5" oal slip-joint, and it has a SS sheepsfoot blade with a coined n/n and double swedge, green linen micarta covers, NS ringed bolsters pins and shield, brass liners, and a lanyard hole. Much to my liking this baby weighs about 5 respectable oz.'s and came well sharpened. Has about a 5 pull along with a half-stop and snappy detent. Showing a near perfect fit and finish. Initially I was shy about the attached US$50. price, just like we all were, but as soon as I handled the knife it made perfect sense, it oozes quality! Do yourselves a favor and get yourselves a copy, you will not be disappointed! 8)

I was hesitant about this one too Marco, but now I'm glad I got it.
That big modified sheepsfoot blade convinced me to get it.
It also having a single blade was another selling point.
Glad you're happy with it. ::tu::

For sure, huh Tim! ::nod:: I wasn't aware that you're a 1 blade guy, ::shrug:: I thought I was the only one, ::shrug:: and it's certainly nice to have company! ::groove:: I am so pleased with how these H/T's feel in my hand, they're just like fondling a big smooth soothing stone! Can't wait to see what they come up with next! ::pace:: ! 8)

I have quite a few multi bladed knives, but my preference has always been knives with one blade.
If the hippo toe had had more than one blade I doubt if I would have bought it.

That's the thing Tim, I have over 350 pieces and not one of them has more than 1 blade, I too wouldn't have bought my H/T if it had! The difference is that you like and own some multi-bladers, whereas I don't like or own any multi's, simply personal preferences, it's what keeps the world goin' round! lol! 8)

Well you guys know I sell a lot of Rough Ryder and RR Reserve knives they are great bargain…with that said I see a Rough Ryder offering that I don’t think I can sell because of its name, it’s like trying to sell a Nova in Spanish that translates into “not going” but the name and number of this knife RR204 the French Tickler…maybe just me
