Anyone have one of these ???

Post by cudgee »

Was wondering if any members out there who have some Rough Ryders can help me. Just saw a post on Youtube from SMKW showing a Rough Ryder lockback tater skin brown burlap for $9.99. Are these any good, saw one on sale over here and was thinking of getting one, they look good on Youtube, but looks can be deceiving. Thanks.

Rough Riders in general are solid good quality knives, better than many.
Their collectible draw is in the hundreds of designs and patterns available, but it's hard to beat their value. You're in the right forum to read up.

Rough Rider is their legacy line and rough rYder is their newer line. Just to tack that on.

Enjoy!

I don't have a lockback, but I do have a Congress with the "tater skin" Micarta. Though it's polished, and I prefer Micarta that's left "in the raw," it looks and feels good. As SwedgeHead says, it's pretty solidly constructed. I imagine it would be much the same with the lockback. Well worth picking one up if you can take advantage of the sale price.

I'd be happy to post some photos of my Congress if you'd like to see how the Micarta looks.

Here you are! Both of these RR2336s are shown from their mark and pile sides. The one on the top sees pocket time, while the one on the bottom is a safe queen.
