Veterine

Welcome to AAPK's Veteran’s Forum. This is a place where veterans can meet, get to know one another better, perhaps swap a story or two, and share any recent information that they have acquired from the Veterans Administration, DoD and Veterans Service Organizations, including but not limited to, DAV, AMVETS, VFW, American Legion, PVA, and MOPH. Another good source of information are branch specific organizations.
We will have a voluntary CHECKING IN topic where you can introduce yourself, years serve and branch or branches of service. Welcome Aboard!

Veterine

Post by just bob »

This caught my eye this morning. From what I can find Veterine is from the Latin and means beast of burden. I suppose this is a fubar and the word veteran was supposed to be inscribed. Any other thoughts?

Very cool lighter Bob. I think the fubar theory is a good one.
If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

Either the engraver or the individual who commissioned the engraving, was spelling challenged.

Well, according to one of the online translation services, "veterine" in Bosnian means veterinary services. I'm sure that's what was intended. ::rotflol::
