I am remiss
I should have posted this several days ago. Dale (orvet) customized Schrade with beautiful moss green bone handles covers. Dale posted about it and put it in his AAPK store. I snatched it up, and it now resides in Texas!
I needed an Orvet Custom, and this one called to me. Now comes the dilemma - carry it or not?

Yes to carry and use it.
It is the near mint vintage production knives that should not be used but preserved for posterity.

Re: I am remiss
Thanks for the advice fella’s. I probably will carry and use it. I didn’t ask Dale but if he’s like most knife makers I’ve known he made it to be used.
But then, I get to thinking about collectors long after we’re all gone, with Dale by then being a famous knife modifier whose work is sought after. Then someone finds the knife with his ORVET stamp on it in mint condition. Will they be as excited then as we are today when we find a mint or near mint 60+ year old knife?

That is a real beauty Ken!!
I am always apprehensive to carry a knife that beautiful..... BUT, how can you show it off to all of your friends if it is at home in a box?
CARRY on!!

Awesome knife, Ken and Dale.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: I am remiss
That sure is a sweet looking knife! Almost too purty to use...almost!
Re: I am remiss
Yes, carry and use. I’m sure if you asked, Dale would be glad to create a small pin crack on one of the handles. Bingo, no longer mint and no longer an excuse not to use it.

Wonderful knife. I understand and certainly respect the opinions of our brethren. Nevertheless, I would like to see that knife preserved. Its a fine example of Dale's talent.

What a wonderful knife!

I would carry it occasionally.
I got one from Dale awhile back and I carry it often.
It's one of the finest in my collection.

Very nice Ken Dale really did a great job on it for sure!!! I could carry it carefully to show off, but could never use it. I have to many EDC already, sure wouldn’t want to mess that one up.

Re: I am remiss
carry it, use it as it is a tool. Obviously, treat it with care and don't abuse it ... but it should be used IMHO.
