Anglo-Saxon with Mammoth Tooth a Jeff Jones Project

Post by Hukk »

I've always wanted to customize a Bulldog Anglo-Saxon with Mammoth Tooth. This is a big knife, 5 1/4 colsed and about 8 3/4 open. A nice big blade to play with. Jeff decided on a rope pattern for the back springs and I think it is looking great. Jeff sends pictures and his progress is going quite well. These are really large scales and takes some work to fit them to the knife and shape them. Actually the mammoth tooth scales were not as pricey as I tought they would be, $47.00. Sounds like a lot at first, but for this size knife I found that pearl was far more. :o I think Jeff is doing a great job as I hear that mammoth tooth can be difficult to work with. There is still work to be done but it is shaping up nicely. ::nod::

Wow, Jeff has finished already and did a great job. Here are a few pictures of the finished knife, just as I wanted it. This is a big 5 1/4 inch knife and can take a lot of different handle materials. :D :D I look forward to getting it back next week.

You're welcome Bryan. I find these threads enjoyable also and I think a lot of us do. I received the Anglo-Saxon today and the pictures do no justice to the knife at all. Excellent work Jeff! ::nod::

Well this is the knife at home. I do believe it turned out quite well, you can see the blade etching quite well. I like the Bulldog for custom knife work, the reverse frosted blade etches really enhances the work that went into putting the new handle material on. Thanks Jeff, looks great!

Wow Hukk the final product is great, I love how all the customizing came together at the end with a first class one of a kind knife...

Thanks for sharing,
