When you craftsman re-handle a knife that has a shield, do you automatically replace the shield in the new handles, or not?

Re: Shields
Most of the time, I am re-using the existing shield. However, sometimes no shield or a different shield is requested.

All depends on what the owner wants. If it's mine it just depends on the material and the mood i'm in

I agree with Kaleb and Glenn. It depends on what the customer wants and if I'm doing them for myself, it depends on what I think looks best.muskrat man wrote:All depends on what the owner wants. If it's mine it just depends on the material and the mood i'm in
Some handle materials look better with a shield and some look better without one.
