TL-29 for co-worker's son
TL-29 for co-worker's son
I just finished this one last week. My co-worker wanted to give his 10 year old son a knife. His son is in scouts, so originally I thought of doing something with a scouting shield. Then I just decided to make a traditional knife. Can't go wrong with some good old stag. I put an oval shield on it, and they got it engraved with his initials.

That stag is gorgeous.
Fantastic workmanship.
That should be one happy 10 yr old.

Another home run Glenn! That young man is going to be thrilled!

A lot better than my first Scout knife! He'll be the envy, in the troop!

Glenn, you are a magician with those old TL-29s!

Outstanding! I was just looking at the three TL-29 Glennbad mods that I have. You are an artist!

Great job Glenn.
That's a mighty nice knife to hand over to a ten year old. I hope he can hang on to it.

That is a beautiful knife, Glenn, and I agree with Phil's comment.

Re: TL-29 for co-worker's son
Thanks guys! I know, it's taking a chance, but we've all been kids and done stupid stuff. Lost or broken knives in our past. We can't live our lives on "what-if"? How much fun would that be?
Regardless, it was my pleasure to do this for him. I could have made one with micarta or acrylic covers, but who knows, maybe it will turn him into a traditional knife nut! I don't know in today's world whether he will appreciate it like we did when we were his age and getting a knife like that. But we'll never know unless we try.
