Remington Customized with Stag

Here is a Remington that I dressed up for the show. The blank was one that I got on eBay after the Camillus bankruptcy auction. At that time there were thousands of Camillus made blades being sold on eBay. This is one of those blades. The blade was a blank that was not finished; it had been fine blanked and heat treated but had never had been sharpened. I made the guard for the blade, it may have been a bit large for this blade but it feels real good to my large hands! The handles are of course sambar stag they are held on with glue and with cutler's rivets, with a piece of mosaic and fitted on top of the cutler's rivets. It was necessary to attach them that way because the pin holes in the tang were too small for the mosaic pins. I figured 1/4 inch mosaic pins would not be seen very well.
The sheath is a sheath from Jantz supply. I finished it by attaching the snap snap to the strap and also by dying and polishing the leather.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.
