Hi Mike,

Thank you for the thoughtful reply and useful details! Your reply has shown me that it's more than I want to tackle right now, so I think I will just use and enjoy this knife as-is.

Thanks again,

Myron

You have done some wonderful work on those ones Derek. The TL-29 is a good solid knife and you have shown some very imaginative variations of them. I never tire at looking at your work.

Myron,
Get some cheaper "junk" knives and work on 'em. Reshape some blades, take 'em apart and put 'em back together.
Save your best knifes for later when you get more experience.

That Camillus Electricians knife has some good bones! It is a good candidate for a nice mod!

Get in there and get your hands dirty!

Here's one that was a pretty beat up Camillus. I did it in buffalo horn. I'm not sure I like that material, but it sure does shine up nice! After I polished it I found a couple places that were dinged a bit... Sorry for the pictures but the sun's out!

I want to Thank Shawn for the coolest Factory Customized knife. Locking punch, hand checkered scales. All made for me and gifted to me.
Shawn is very talented, with his work on guns and knives. He is also my friend, all made possible through our connection on AAPK.

Thank you Shawn

I just got back, from a Father's Day trek, to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. My father had been an electrician, prior to getting in to the radio and records world. We always had the fanciest ceiling fans and indoor / outdoor lighting, in our house. If it could be converted or upgraded, he did it. A few months back...I had him come down and help me put in some lighting and electrical plugs, under my recent RV cover. Additionally, he helped me convert it from a 30 Amp plug...to a 50 Amp plug. It's getting harder for him to do the labor. I had him be the brains of the project and I provided the "brawn". I'd never really known the story behind him being an elctrician; but, had the time to get a lot of the story. His mother had been a secretary, working for an electrical company. Long story short...he had his Journeyman's license at age 16 and his Master Electricians license by the time he was 18. No small accomplishment. He put himself through college, working part time as an electrician. While he made good money as an 18 year old...he's wasn't enthralled with working in the heat of Texas construction sites.
I dressed up this Camco TL-29, for him (with camel bone); however, left the screwdriver and "workings", to stay true to it's roots.
It brought a smile to his face.
