Our Visit To Santa Fe Stoneworks (NM)

Post by bestgear »

In 2018 I got to know Anna Wirtel, one of the owners of Santa Fe Stoneworks (https://santafestoneworks.com/) at the Blade Show in Atlanta. At the time I was selling advertising for Knife Magazine and Anna wanted to explore the possibility of advertising. When we met, we connected, and while they never advertised while I was with Knife Magazine, Anna and I stayed in touch, so when I was in Santa Fe last week there was no way I wasn't going to visit their factory and gallery. To commemorate the journey westward, my son and I found a vein turquoise with a 3" damascus lockback blade that spoke to us. We liked the Zia sun symbol which represents the four cardinal directions, the four seasons of the year, the four period of each day (morning, noon, evening, and night), and the four seasons of life (childhood, youth, middle age, and old age). Since I was flying home, Anna mailed it to me and it arrived safe and sound along with a cool pocket slip. This one will join My Heirloom Collection which means that this week is a 2-fer along with the April giveaway. I'm trying not to scream too-loud as I know how quickly the tides can turn ................ shhhhhhhhhhh ................. ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds::

Beautiful knife Tom, and a great story to go with it. That makes it extra special! ::tu::

Tom somehow I had missed this thread till now. That is a beautiful knife anyone would be proud to own. It's doubly cool in that you got it on your visit there and got to spend time with a friend. I've been to Santa Fe a few times but it never really occurred to me to visit Santa Fe Stoneworks. ::dang:: . Maybe I'll find my way back there again some day.

PS You sure know how to do a road trip. ::tu::
