Schrade 5OT with Streaked Buffalo Horn

Post by Jeffinn »

I added some streaked buffalo horn handles, a new blade, a new spring assembly and added dual threading to bolsters. It turned out pretty nice!

Nice work on the horn!
I have been thinking about trying some buffalo and some ram. I like the look of the buffalo.

Great work on the bolsters too. Really classy look!

I like the horn you put on my RR Half-Hawk (loom fixer) quite a lot. It sure dresses up an otherwise plain Jane, hum drum knife. I very much like the threaded bolsters you did on that one. Perfecto.

Thanks Jerry!
I’m using Buffalo horn a little bit more. Sometimes the white streaks are prominent, other times they’re a little more subdued.
But the black always comes out deep black and glossy so it’s a great handle material if you’re looking for that true black color.
