Camillus #51 Barlow

Post by orvet »

I had a long line Camillus #51 Barlow that was pretty close to pristine, I don't think it'd been sharpened.
I thought it would make a nice candidate for a re-handle with some really nice giraffe bone I had picked several years ago.

Although the handles came from the same piece of bone, there is a great deal of variation in their color.
I thought it looked pretty.
I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Great job Dale!

Yep, you are right, that is some nice looking giraffe bone!
Nice figure! The color is great. Being different on each side like that is cool.... I like it!!

Very nice work Dale! I really like the way different shades of green emerged from that giraffe bone. ::tu:: ::tu:: P.S. your post just reminded me that I've got some camel bone stashed away around here somewhere.

Dale, I just tried to buy your lovely Barlow but the shipping keeps charging the same as the knife's price. Kindly let me know when you get that fixed. Thanks.

I think one of the big draws to camel bone is the varied density, creating those beautiful patterns. Good choice!

I like it!

What's the pin kinda in the middle? Did that used to be for a bail, or just an added decoration?
