Case xx cattle knife

Post by Potechop »

This one’s on eBay now don’t know how to post the listing . First look thought was a 45 pattern but has a spay blade and a 45 three blade has a pen. Spay blade doesn’t look like a case blade .The jigging looks like case . The handles just don’t fit right there’s small gap on each end . Shield looks small for a xx. Should be larger to be pinned on. I don’t like putting peoples knives on counterfeit but just wonder what you guys think about this one. I had a big collection of xx but never had this one ::shrug:: . No pattern number also but had a few xx that were missing the pattern number. I still see knives I never seen before so don’t want to judge this one yet.

Not a Case knife, looks like maybe Utica (Kutmaster). I couldn’t find the eBay listing but probably missed it. ::shrug::

Listed as Case XX Red Bone 3 Blade Bone Pocket Knife. Knife is already over 200 dollars. Looks like long as people are going to keep playing crazy prices for these fakes they’re going to keep on making them.

Using the listing description I found it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144968087444?h ... R5ze2qjVYQ

Not sure what it started as but it’s been cobbled into what it is now. That “humpback” spey blade is a dead give-away that it’s not a Case. Imperial, Pal, Ulster and others made them with a curved spine also. Case spey blades are straight-spined. The tang of the main blade appears to have been grinded down as evidenced by the curved shoulder grind line.

Below are the listing pictures. Seller has other knives listed that look okay - probably doesn’t know this one is a fake. JMO

A fool and his/her/its money . . . ::doh::

The pattern number says it all. According to the description, maybe this is one of those knives Case made for expert installation on an assault rifle? 🤭
