Alaboutpocketknives and Ipad question
Alaboutpocketknives and Ipad question
Ok all,
I have had this issue for years but never questioned it, it's time.
When I open our favorite site on my ipad, it shrinks way down in the corner of my window. Not too bad, I can drag it out so I can visualize ..
It gets to be annoying when I switch to another room, it's starts all over again. Any suggestions for users with an ipad?

I am using an iPad to respond. Do you use Safari which is the included web browser on iPad? Which corner does it go to? Top left, bottom right, etc.
You might also try double-tapping somewhere on the page. This should make the page automatically resize itself.
I looked in the "Settings" for Safari on my iPad and didn't see anything that looked like it would change the way pages are displayed.

I use an iPad as well and I just made an icon for aapk and it comes up formatted correctly. I have to pinch it out to make the text bigger to read something long but it works pretty well for me.

Guys,
Thanks fir the replys. I have done everything I can think of including what was mentioned here. I just want a full screen.... No pinching to expand. If I' m reading a topic and go to the next page it gets resized again,again,again..... Very discouraging if one wants to read a lot here.
1st picture is when I pull up aapk, or select a link. Everything is squeezed to the left and my fingers are fatter than the icons to select a forum.
2nd picture is resized to full screen, this is a example of my post pinched to fill the frame. As soon as I send it the frame squeezes back down small as in the first picture.

I have a Ipad and it does the same .Each time you go to a new page you have to resize.
Ipad are allright to use as a second computer but they have their down falls.I have a Samsung phone and it does the same.The only thing I found a IPad good for is I have a wireless wi fi and I can take the Ipad with me and connect to the internet and I have a bigger screen than a mobile phone.

Re: Alaboutpocketknives and Ipad question
If you know who administers the web site you might have them look at the HTML related to the scrolling store items at the top of the the page. In my computer web browser, this banner resizes itself to the width of the window (e.g., full screen or a slightly minimized window). On my iPad, and in your pasted picture above, you can see that the banner is much wider than the table with the forum topics.
One thing to try would be to remove the "width" property in this snippet of HTML. I highlighted this in RED below. Only the programmer maintaining the web site can do this.
<td class="black_bg"><img src="/images/left_side_banner.jpg" border="0" alt="All About Pocket Knives Forum"></td><td width="100%" class="black_bg" valign="middle">
<iframe
src ="/includes/store_ads.php"
width="100%" height="150" scrolling="no" frameborder="0">
</iframe>
</td>

I am one of the administrators and I suggest you PM Bryan.
He is the tech genius behind AAPK.
I may be an administrator, but I am certainly not the one to go to for something this complex having to do with the forum program itself.
