Picture enlargement?

I've noticed that in some websites/forums (never know w/w) the ability to magnify the pictures MAY be included. My question is
1. Is this a function of My software only? OR
2. Is this a function of the forum's server? OR
3. Is this a function of a/the picture service/server? OR
4. Is this just a device to drive nubies crazy?

I do not find this feature here. Am I correct?

Since the ability to see detail in a knife before buying is of utmost importance, I'd think enlargement would be a prerequisit. NO?

I like the site very much. Please don't be offended by my inquerie.

I think it depends on how the person placed it in the post here.
If you click on the photo they will inlarge.
But not all photos.
Try is on some of mine they will inlarge.
