John Lloyd slip joints
I have a Serpentine Stockman with vintage rag micarta scales.... and a Trapper with presentation grade Indian Sambar. Both beautifully made.

These are very nice, I actually have a stag trapper in the mail now. I could very well be in the box now
Re: John Lloyd slip joints
Your first one? Your going to love it! John does a great job of constructing and finishing. The articulation is superb to center and open. Snap is great! Make sure you post a picture here! I want to see it.XxTestedxX wrote:These are very nice, I actually have a stag trapper in the mail now. I could very well be in the box now

Thanks Steve! The vintage rag Micarta Stockman doesn't photograph well... you should see it in the sunlight.Steve Warden wrote:That trapper is stunning, CheckSix!!

WOW.... I like the style of the knives Lloyd makes.
Reminds me of Billy Watson's folding knives.... I never did get a Billy folder much to my dismay.
TWO thumbs up!!

Re: John Lloyd slip joints
I finally got mine today. Looks like Zach owned it before me. Great well built knife. It’s 4 3/4 closed. I placed it beside a Case Trapper for size comparison.

Re: John Lloyd slip joints
These are some GREAT looking knives.
I've noticed that the stag he uses always has that "fire red" color in it. His handles just seem to glow.
I'm adding J. Lloyd/stag to my "wish list".

Here's my Lloyd. John wasn't sure of the cover material, but thinks it is steller's sea cow bone.
Re: John Lloyd slip joints
That’s a nice looking knife as well. How do you like it?
Re: John Lloyd slip joints
I'm relatively new to the custom world. In fact, all the customs I have been able to obtain, save one, are second hand. However, I have found them all to be wonderfully crafted and rock solid performers.
Back to your question...The Lloyd is a great carry, razor sharp and rock solid as well.

I am right there with you, I only have two. Both of mine are top notch.
