outdoors knife

Post by hellize »

Hello.

Have a freshly finished knife.
Its total length is 25.5 cm / 10 inch. The blade's length is almost 14 cm / 5.5 inch , its width 37 mm / 1.45 inch and its thickness 5 mm / 0.2 inch.
The blade is forged of leaf spring steel, the handle is made of oak and bronze.
Its sheath is made of thick cow leather.

Wow, that's a nice one. I like the shape of that knife very much. For a wood handle, I like a darker color myself but that's still a nice handle and it looks to be very comfortable in the hand, like you could use it for a long time and your hand wouldn't hurt from gripping it.

And once again you designed a sheath that compliments the style of the knife. Very nicely done. ::tu:: ::nod:: You do some really good work.

Thanks a lot! :)
Yes, it is comfortable. When I shape the handle I constantly grip it to feel when it it is ready. Empiric evidence shows that my hand size is more or less a gold standard. If it is comf for me, than it is usually comfy for most people :D

I also like how you widen the back of the handle. It's like an added safety feature should the knife slip forward. Well thought out. ::tu::

Very sharp looking knife! Like the hammered guard and the handle shape. Looks very ergonomic. Great job ::tu::

Your bronze accent is perfect. I admire the total package including of course the sheath.

Thanks a lot! :) Some people see a kite shield with a cross, but actually it is a hoof print. Anyway, I like them both :D

No sir, I don’t think so. It proportions are just about spot on, the blade shape is pleasing to the eye, and extremely useful, as is the handle. It’s a very nice knife.
