Somewhere between 1923 and 1940, no way to get a closer date.

Called a clasp knife, or folding hunter. Covers are probably celluloid so keep it segregated from other knives, preferably on a shelf or elsewhere in open air (or your pocket ::tu:: ) and out of direct sunlight.

Ha!!
Nice knife, I put one just like it in the "Just Because" thread.

It's nice to know the general date.

You're correct Ken, knife is celluloid. I have found the earlier KA-BAR yellow cell to be pretty stable. I have a couple of those and a lot of old KA-BARs with the yellow cell. The stuff they used in the late 1940s and 50s seems different and often found disintegrated.

Agree with Gene. My yellow KA-BARS are dong fine so far. The cracked ice ones too. I have a candystripe that blew out. Fingers crossed. J.O'.

Well, it sold quickly!! It was a nice example with a very full blade. No pin cracks in the cell either which is common on that model. Blade could have been cleaner but most of these I've seen didn't have as full blades. I was sorely tempted but have two already.

I don't like yellow delrin at all, but this yellow celluloid has a depth and beauty to it.

Now that’s my kind of knife! Very nice.
