Wow, those are beauties. Especially love the Gerbers on the horse shoe, that must be a draft horse shoe, a monster, and great backdrop. Excellent pics amigo. Wow, keep them coming.

Ivoryman wrote: Sat Feb 20, 2021 1:20 am It's the 720113, bought it new in 2014 when we were into nothing but wharns for a while. The lock up was a little more loose than I wanted so I sent it in to GEC. It was better after it came back couple months later, but not solid, still some slight movement. The amazing thing is whatever they did when they messed with the back of the tang has worn in and gotten tighter over time. The back of the tang looked noticeably different when I got it back. They did a great job of that I must say, never thought it would slowly get tighter and lose some movement. That never happens right? I just whittled up some fire sticks for the wood stove and it feels solid. As a LB should be.
I see now (under zoom magnification) that the pile side tang stamp clearly shows 72...Wow...back then, when I was into collecting GEC Wharncliffes, I only got Stag-handled 72s and every one of them had movement in the open/locked position. Never even occurred to me to send them back to GEC to fix the slop. Glad that worked out for you. ::tu:: Your ebony 72 is a cool looking knife 8) especially with the patina. ::nod::
