A company with excellent service.

Post by Mossdancer »

Hi All;
Picked up a few this weekend including some really nice cutco kitchen knives. There was two #22 1-#23 and 1-#24, I found while looking them up that there was another number in use also with the digits 10 in front of the aforementioned numbers. I could find no info anywhere as to the difference in age. Below is a copy of my letter to cutco and their response. It shows the dates sent and received.
I posted this because I believe good service should be heralded by all of us. They will certainly get some of my business in the future.

Subject:cutco numbering system

Hello;
A question if you please. what year did you switch from four or two digit numbers to two or four digit numbers.
Ie. 23 to 1023 or 1023 to 23. I have worded this as I have because I do not know which system was first. Not being a totally stupid person I would assume the two digit system was first but, I don’t know for sure. And I have no idea of the year of transition.
Thank You for your assistance,
William B. Cox

Dear Mr. Cox,

Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

The two digit numbers were first and they were manufactured between
1952-1960. The four digits numbers that you were asking about were
manufactured between 1960-1972.

I hope this information is helpful to you. If we can assist you
further, please do not hesitate to contact us again or call
1-800-633-8323.

Thank you for selecting CUTCO. We look forward to the opportunity to
serve you again soon.

Have a great day!
